SJC Academy

The SJC Academy fosters a thriving professional learning community by providing sustenance and ensuring staff have the support and opportunities to grow and develop.

 

It is our belief that this will increase the College’s capacity to enrich staff growth through research-based best practices, fostering curiosity, and driving innovation towards continuous improvement.

 

Scope

  • provide professional growth opportunities in response to the ever-changing education landscape
  • identify and facilitate professional growth opportunities to inform innovation and renewal
  • provide collegial communities of practice for professionals
  • support growth for all staff within their career phase
  • utilise the rich intellectual resources to innovate, educate and grow
  • grow partnerships with other stakeholders, universities and like-minded schools to enrich the experiences of the SJC community
  • encourage research at, and beyond, St Joseph’s College to inform professional practices
  • provide guidance to staff considering or completing further study

Levels of Engagement

Participation in current and continual professional opportunities, e.g. Staff Development & Engagement Plan, Professional Learning Teams, ‘Open Doors’, etc.

 

Provision of optional collegial learning opportunities to enhance personal professional practice, e.g. mentoring and coaching, Communities of Practice, Relational Pedagogy courses, etc.

Facilitation of partnerships with and for the wider educational community, e.g. engagement with external stakeholders, sharing practice to further professional networks, etc.
