Our College

Our Values

Our Values

St Joseph’s College is founded on the ideals and values of Blessed Edmund Rice, founder of the Christian Brothers.

The St Joseph’s values of Compassion, Respect, Endeavour and Dignity shape the culture of the College and become the underpinning basis from which to reflect and conduct ourselves in our everyday life.

Nurturing relationships and recognising the dignity of all people in the light of the teachings of Jesus, is paramount at St Joseph’s.

Our values are modelled by staff and community members that demonstrate how students, can grow into proactive young women and men.

Our Values

Compassion

We care for and accept all members of the St Joseph’s community.

We are aware and proactive in attending to the needs of others.

Respect

We accept and respect everyone in our community.

We listen compassionately and are kind to everyone

Endeavour

We strive to work hard and have an ambition to succeed.

We persist through challenges and have the resilience to push forward.

Dignity

Each individual brings value to our community and is born in the image of God.

We treat people how we would like to be treated.

The Joey's Way

A group of current and former staff members are working to develop a framework called ‘The Joey’s Way’. In short, it will be an outline of what it means to be a member of St Joseph’s College. In time, this will help us form a set of positive expectations for all community members (a bit like school rules) that reflect our College values of Respect, Endeavour, Dignity and Compassion.

We are endeavouring to contact as many past and present students, staff and parents as we possibly can, in order to gain a deep understanding of how The Joey’s Way can be lived by all of us, all of the time.
