Tuesday night saw over 250 staff and students rock n roll together at the Year 7 social/disco. With many activities on hand such as face painting, appreciation walls and making their own S ‘mores, the year 7’s and their buddies were kept busy and smiling all night. After enjoying a sausage sizzle provided by Mr Canning and his team, ice-cream and mingling on the grass, the students worked up a sweat on the dance floor; actively in sync with the ‘Nut Bush’ and Macarena. Ms Newton was able to lead the students in many of the dances and captured their enthusiasm and joy with her camera. A pictorial display from the night will be available in next week’s newsletter. Toasting of marshmallows and making of S ’mores was supervised by Mr and Mrs Ramage, many students and staff never having had the experience of a toasted marshmallow before saw many edible delights being devoured. Our theme for the night was Campfire of the Hearts and two of our senior students, Ethan Chambers and Ellie Anderson, along with Mrs Puhakka; were extremely busy all-night decorating faces with flames, hearts and patterns. Miss Harris and Miss Unsworth directed students with the Appreciation wall; where students recorded the many different aspects of their lives they are appreciative for! The display can be found in the College Library for everyone to appreciate.

A thank you must be extended to all staff at the College for assisting, from teaching, to tuckshop, to maintenance; for their
support and organisation. Thank you to the College Parents and Friends Association for donating the ice-creams, the students and staff were able to enjoy dessert due to their generosity. The Marshmallow and S ’more station was provided by Mr Shane Ramage and Mrs Jodie Ramage, thank you for adding to the joy and laughter of the evening! Thank you to our year 11 and 12 helpers who were outstanding in supporting both the Year 7’s and staff on the night.
