Over Sunday and Monday and Tuesday our boys and girls teams competed in the Queensland All Schools Hockey tournament at the Clyde Park fields.

Both teams played 12 games of hockey in the three days with the boys team losing to Ignatius Park in the semi-finals after finishing second in the A division pool after the game rounds. They then had to play off against St Marys for third and fourth positions. They successfully managed to beat them and finished third overall for the tournament. A great effort by all boys and Mr Canning who gave of his time to coach the team.

I can say that the girls had the unluckiest time in the tournament. Our first game was against Glennie who we managed to defeat 2 games to nil. We then got to the end of the day to realise that we were beaten into A division by Glennie on a count back by two goals. Our first oh dear moment. We then got to the semi finals in the B division and
playing off for a place in the finals. After the full time siren went we were still locked at nil all so shot out time it was. We lost this 3 to 2 and so missed out on the finals. The girls came back on Tuesday morning to win against Carmel College one nil to finish third overall. The eventually winners of the tournament were St Ursula’s who only defeated us one to nil recognising that we played really well, we were just unlucky.
