They finally did it!!!!. The boys won their very first SSI Red Lion Plate last night, playing in very cold conditions at St Albans.
It was a very physical game with both sides giving it everything they had. At half time the score was still nil all with most of the
possession being played in the attacking half, but we just couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net. The game was starting to resemble last weeks game with a drop off and shoot out needed to finalise the winner but in quick succession the boys put two goals in the net and we came away winners.
Ryan McIntosh was unable to attend the game last night because he lives out of town but was an integral part of the team on the competition day. We know he will still enjoy the win with the boys.
I am not sure who had the biggest smile on their faces, but the boys were ecstatic with the win and it has topped off a great term for them.
Young Riley Willmott was named player of the final.
Many thanks to Dave Nugent who has given up his spare time to come and coach the boys, they are deeply appreciative of him and his coaching knowledge.
And to Mr Holdsworth who has practically given up most of his lunch times to coach the boys and prepare them for this magnificent win.
A big thank you to Callum Wright who ran the line for the boys last night as well. And to the big crowd that attended thank you so much for coming out to support the boys on such a cold night.
Well done to everyone.
