On Sunday the 19th we sent five teams out to the All Schools Touch tournament held at Kearney's Spring.
We had a very successful day with three of the teams winning, one team being runner-up and the fifth team missing out on the count back by two tries in making the semi-finals.
The open boys were successful against St Mary’s in the final winning 7 to 4. The open girls were winners over Glennie coming away with a four to one try victory. The 15 girls played Fairholme in the final winning two tries to one, which was a great effort.
The 15 boys came up against a strong St Marys team and lost six tries to nil. They played really well but just couldn’t match the combinations from St Mary’s.
Our second 15 boys missed the finals by two tries but would have come up against our other boys’ team so one team still would have missed out on a finals position.
Many thanks go to the teachers (Miss Bolton, Mrs Young, Mr Kilgour and Mr McKenzie) and parents (Mrs Pengilly) who gave up their time and Sunday to spend coaching the teams. It was greatly appreciated and without these valuable people, students would not be able to participate.
