Keely Geiger competed at the Qld Brazilian Jiu Jitsu State
Championships on Sunday 17th June. She competed in the open female U/15 Gi and No Gi competitions, where she won a gold medal and silver medal respectively.

Keely commenced BJJ training, as part of an anti bullying program, after one of her best friend’s suicide from bullying in Nov 2016.

BJJ is a non striking martial art, that promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique. BJJ instils confidence, respect, strength, skills, honour and pride in students and is proven as an effective anti bullying and self defence strategy.
